Canada 3-Ton Ducted Heat Pump System Matching
Engineering Support for Side-Discharge Heat Pumps and Matched Air Handlers
For HVAC distributors, contractors and importers in Canada, selecting a ducted heat pump is about more than nominal capacity. The indoor and outdoor units need to be matched, the seasonal efficiency must meet the target, and the electrical configuration and certification documentation must fit the intended market.
For this Canadian-market inquiry, the customer shared a reference 3-ton ducted heat pump system and requested comparable equipment with a SEER2 rating of at least 19. YUJU proposed a matched side-discharge heat pump outdoor unit and ducted air handler rated at 19.5 SEER2, with R32 refrigerant and a 208–230V, single-phase, 60Hz power supply.

1. Proposed System and Technical Specifications
The proposed package pairs a side-discharge outdoor heat pump with a compatible ducted air handler. The following summary reflects the configuration offered for this inquiry.
| Parameter | Proposed Specification |
| System Type | Ducted split heat pump system |
| Capacity Class | 3 Ton / 36,000 BTU/h class |
| Outdoor Unit | Side-discharge heat pump outdoor unit |
| Indoor Unit | Matched ducted air handler |
| Seasonal Cooling Efficiency | 19.5 SEER2 |
| Refrigerant | R32 |
| Power Supply | 208–230V / 1 Phase / 60Hz |
| Compressor | Gree compressor |
| Certifications | AHRI and ETL certifications available for the offered equipment configuration |
| Thermostat | 24V thermostat not included in the quoted package |
Note: 36,000 BTU/h identifies the capacity class. Rated cooling and heating outputs depend on the applicable test conditions and the matched equipment combination; refer to the approved technical submittal for detailed performance data.
2. Matching the Customer's SEER2 Requirement
The customer's reference system was rated at 19.0 SEER2, and the stated requirement was to meet or exceed that level. The proposed YUJU configuration is rated at 19.5 SEER2, which is 0.5 SEER2 points above the specified threshold.
SEER2 is a seasonal cooling-efficiency metric used to compare equipment under standardized test conditions. For a fair comparison, the rating should correspond to the actual matched indoor and outdoor units, rather than being inferred from the nominal tonnage alone.
Customer's minimum target
19.0 SEER2
Proposed system rating
19.5 SEER2
3. Compressor and Outdoor Unit Configuration
The offered outdoor unit uses a Gree compressor. Compressor selection is one part of the overall system configuration; final system performance also depends on the heat exchangers, refrigerant control, fan operation and matched indoor unit.

4. Matched Ducted Air Handler
A ducted system requires the air handler to be matched with the outdoor unit and the project's air-distribution design. Airflow, external static pressure, duct resistance, thermostat compatibility and installation conditions should be checked during final selection.

The standard quoted package does not include a 24V thermostat. The required control interface and thermostat selection should be confirmed before order placement.
5. AHRI and ETL Certification
The offered equipment configuration has AHRI and ETL certifications. These are important considerations for buyers evaluating rated HVAC performance and product safety for the North American market.
Certification details and supporting documents can be provided during technical review. The applicable certification scope should be checked against the final indoor and outdoor model combination and the intended installation requirements.
6. Container Supply and Production Planning
For importers and distributors purchasing matched indoor and outdoor units, YUJU can coordinate packaging information, container-loading plans, production scheduling and technical documentation. Final loading quantity and lead time are confirmed against the approved packaging dimensions, order configuration and production schedule.
Commercial terms and unit pricing are provided separately in the project quotation rather than published on this engineering support page.
7. Engineering Support for HVAC Buyers
This inquiry illustrates how YUJU approaches equipment matching for the Canadian market: review the customer's reference requirements, identify a suitable heat pump and air handler combination, compare the efficiency target, and confirm certification documentation for the offered configuration.
