USA R454B Ducted Heat Pump & Air Handler Sourcing | Florida & Oregon

U.S. Project Sourcing · Top-Discharge Heat Pumps · Matched Air Handlers · OEM & Container Planning

Real U.S. Procurement Requirements, Matched to a Practical HVAC Platform

An American construction-supply buyer requested 2-ton, 2.5-ton and 3-ton ducted heating and cooling equipment for evaluation against projects associated with Jacksonville, Florida, and the Portland-area market near West Linn, Oregon. Their review covered U.S. electrical compatibility, refrigerant selection, matched-system efficiency, certification checks, indoor/outdoor unit pricing structures and full-container shipping options.

YUJU assessed an R454B top-discharge air-source heat pump combined with a ducted indoor air handler as a candidate supply platform. The two locations were provided as freight-estimate destinations; they are not presented as completed installation sites.

1. Real Equipment: R454B Top-Discharge Heat Pump + Air Handler

The proposed equipment consists of a vertical indoor ducted air handler and a matching top-discharge outdoor heat pump. This is a split air-to-air system: it is not a rooftop packaged unit, side-discharge condenser or hydronic air handler. The following photograph shows the actual equipment and related accessories supplied for technical review.

2. What the U.S. Buyer Needed

Sourcing requirement Engineering / supply response
Capacity range 2-ton and 3-ton standard matched systems; 2.5-ton applications considered using a 3-ton platform with an appropriate DIP-switch setting.
System configuration Indoor ducted air handler plus outdoor reversible heat pump; components can also be evaluated individually.
Electrical supply 208/230 V, single-phase, 60 Hz equipment platform.
Refrigerant / safety R454B A2L platform; model-specific safety listing and installation instructions must be checked.
Performance verification Match the actual indoor and outdoor model numbers to the corresponding AHRI performance record.
Volume supply Separate and mixed-capacity 40HQ purchasing scenarios, packaging assessment, OEM coordination and export planning.

3. Florida vs. Oregon: Different HVAC Selection Priorities

A common equipment platform does not mean the same sizing and operating assumptions should be used for every location. Regional climate and building conditions determine what should be verified before ordering.

Jacksonville, Florida — Hot-Humid Cooling West Linn, Oregon — Heating & Seasonal Operation
Latent cooling and moisture removal: verify equipment sizing, coil operation and indoor airflow so the system does not rely only on peak sensible cooling capacity. Winter heating capacity: review heat-pump output at design outdoor temperature instead of selecting from nominal 3-ton capacity alone.
Air handler and ducts: confirm duct static pressure, condensate drainage, return-air arrangement and insulation/condensation control. Defrost and backup heat: review control strategy, optional electric heat provisions (where approved), and local electrical capacity.
Site-specific requirements: outdoor-unit placement, rain exposure and any relevant coastal corrosion or wind considerations. Shoulder-season efficiency: confirm building heating/cooling loads, thermostat compatibility and comfortable part-load operation.

These are selection checkpoints for the two regional markets, not claims that either location has an approved or completed YUJU installation.

4. Technical Specification Comparison

The following values are taken from the supplier technical spreadsheet and the provided matched-system rating records. Nominal tonnage and certified rating-point capacity are identified separately.

Technical item 2-Ton configuration 3-Ton configuration
Nominal class 24,000 BTU/h (2 Ton) 36,000 BTU/h class (3 Ton)
Rated cooling at 95°F — AHRI 24,000 BTU/h 34,000 BTU/h
AHRI-certified SEER2 18.0 19.0
AHRI-certified EER2 at 95°F 10.0 10.0
AHRI-certified heating at 47°F 24,000 BTU/h 34,000 BTU/h
AHRI-certified HSPF2 (Region IV) 9.0 9.0
Electrical supply 208/230V · 1Ph · 60Hz 208/230V · 1Ph · 60Hz
Refrigerant R454B (A2L) R454B (A2L)
Indoor rated airflow (supplier sheet) 850 CFM 1,175 CFM
Indoor external static pressure (supplier sheet) Up to 0.8 in.w.g. / 200 Pa Up to 0.8 in.w.g. / 200 Pa
Cooling operating range (supplier sheet) -15°C to 54°C -15°C to 54°C
Heating operating range (supplier sheet) -20°C to 30°C -20°C to 30°C
Maximum line length (supplier sheet) 30 m 30 m
Maximum elevation difference (supplier sheet) 15 m 15 m
How a 2.5-Ton Application Is Addressed

The sourcing proposal uses the standard 3-ton equipment platform for applications requesting approximately 2.5 tons, with the supported capacity setting adjusted by DIP switch. The factory hardware and model remain the 3-ton version. The published 19.0 SEER2 rating shown above refers to the listed 3-ton certified matched configuration, not a separately certified 2.5-ton rating.

For the 3-ton system, the general supplier specification groups the equipment within an “18 SEER2” product series, while the provided AHRI certificate lists 19.0 SEER2 for its specific matched indoor/outdoor combination. Project submittals should use the certified result for the exact verified configuration.

5. Equipment Size, Refrigerant Piping and Packing Review

Item 2-Ton / 3-Ton platform specification
Indoor cabinet (W × H × D) 21 × 46-1/2 × 21 in (supplier sheet)
Indoor shipping carton (W × H × D) 23 × 52 × 24-1/2 in; approximately 0.480 CBM
Outdoor cabinet (W × H × D) 29-1/8 × 24-15/16 × 29-1/8 in (supplier sheet)
Outdoor shipping carton (W × H × D) 30-1/5 × 31-1/4 × 30-1/5 in; approximately 0.467 CBM
Estimated combined carton volume Approximately 0.947 CBM per matched indoor/outdoor set, before loading-efficiency allowances
Refrigerant piping sizes Liquid 3/8 in; suction 3/4 in
Factory-charge reference line length 7.5 m / approximately 25 ft (not a statement that copper line sets are supplied)
Shipping gross weight Pending confirmed packaging/pallet information
40HQ planning estimate Approximately 70 matched indoor/outdoor sets, subject to an approved loading plan

When arranging a mixed 40HQ container, the final counts by capacity should be confirmed together with the carton orientation, pallet use, stacking limits, gross weights and the importer’s handling arrangements. A factory figure for outdoor units shipped alone should not be treated as the number of complete indoor/outdoor sets.

6. R454B A2L Safety and Product Identification

The photographed indoor air-handler labeling identifies R454B as an A2L refrigerant and includes safety and leak-detection instructions. The applicable installation manual, electrical protection, refrigerant charge and air-handler safety provisions must be reviewed for the final purchased models.

7. AHRI Performance Matching and ETL Safety Verification

For U.S. buyers, safety listing and performance certification answer different questions. ETL listing concerns the applicable product safety standards; AHRI records certify performance for a specified indoor/outdoor combination. A listed component alone does not establish a different system combination’s efficiency rating.

Documentation check 2-Ton matched system 3-Ton matched system

Outdoor model on AHRI record MYTA24NA23BCH18-O MYTA36NA23BCH18-O

The actual OEM brand, legal listing entity, applicable certification file/control number and permitted private-label configurations must be checked against the latest records before project approval. Third-party certification marks and certificate reproductions are intentionally not displayed on this marketing page.

8. Container Procurement and OEM Supply Support

The original buyer requested both complete matched systems and individual indoor/outdoor equipment pricing, together with full-container packing, spare-parts support, manufacturer information and U.S. delivery options. These commercial and technical questions are handled separately from equipment sizing.
