Side-Discharge Heat Pumps · Top-Discharge Heat Pumps · Air Handlers · Product Customization · Quality Control · U.S. Market Support
Build a practical residential ducted HVAC product program around verified customer requirements. YUJU supports market-oriented product configuration, matched heat pump and air handler selection, OEM and private-label branding, quality requirements and technical coordination for U.S. importers, distributors and HVAC brands.
For an American HVAC brand, the challenge is rarely limited to finding a 3-ton or 5-ton heat pump. The selected platform must also fit the intended refrigerant strategy, electrical service, air-handler design, performance positioning, documentation and brand program.
1. Two Distinct Platforms for Different Product Strategies
YUJU can evaluate two existing platform directions for 24K / 36K / 48K / 60K BTU/h product classes. These are distinct refrigerant and outdoor-unit architectures; they are not intended to be mixed together as a single certified system.
| OEM Decision Item | R32 Side-Discharge Program | R454B Top-Discharge Program |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerant strategy | R32 / A2L | R454B / A2L |
| Outdoor design | Side discharge, project-friendly footprint | Top discharge, conventional U.S. condenser arrangement |
| Electrical baseline | 208–230V / 1Ph / 60Hz | 208/230V / 1Ph / 60Hz |
| Capacity classes | 24K, 36K, 48K, 60K | 24K, 36K, 48K, 60K |
| Indoor air handler | Multi-speed ECM; indoor EEV | Matched air handler; indoor TXV |
| Cooling efficiency reference | SEER2 17.0–18.8 across listed classes | SEER2 16.5–18.0 across listed classes |
| Documentation status | AHRI marked Yes in supplied sheet, model-specific reference to confirm | AHRI / safety / brand-registration documents to verify by exact model |
Model naming matters: a 60K capacity class does not necessarily provide 60,000 BTU/h of rated cooling. The supplied R32 60K-class system reports 54,000 BTU/h and the R454B 60K-class top-discharge system reports 52,000 BTU/h. YUJU therefore uses actual model data when creating quotations and customer product sheets.
Two distinct OEM product architectures: R32 side-discharge and R454B top-discharge ducted heat pump systems.
2. OEM Starts With the Target Market & Customer Specification
Instead of changing the logo on a generic air conditioner and calling it an OEM program, YUJU begins with the market and purchasing requirements:
- Target region and applications: residential, replacement, new construction or light-commercial.
- Capacity mix: 2-ton, 3-ton, 4-ton and 5-ton product classes, with accurate model-level rated output.
- Refrigerant and outdoor configuration: R32 side discharge or R454B top discharge.
- Equipment matching: compatible outdoor units, indoor coils, expansion devices, air handlers and controls.
- U.S. electrical baseline: 208/230V, single phase, 60Hz for these two supplied platforms.
- Airflow: ECM option, available CFM, filter resistance and static-pressure requirements.
- Compliance plan: applicable product listings, AHRI rated combinations, A2L safety and market registration.
- Commercial requirements: branding, packaging, spare parts, order volume and logistics.
3. Matched Heat Pump + Air Handler: Not Just a Pair of Boxes
The outdoor unit and air handler must work as a defined refrigeration and airflow system. Refrigerant type, expansion-control arrangement, coil specifications and certified performance cannot be assumed to transfer from one product platform to another.
For example, the R32 side-discharge source identifies ECM airflow and EEV control, while the R454B top-discharge source lists an indoor TXV and outdoor EEV. Each requires its own approved matching and service documentation.
4. Certifications, Ratings & U.S. Market Access
U.S. customers often require more than a product brochure. YUJU supports a product-specific documentation review based on the final chosen system and branding arrangement. No single AHRI, ENERGY STAR or safety claim should be applied to an entire product family without verification.
| Customer Requirement | Recommended Verification |
|---|---|
| AHRI ratings | Confirm the exact outdoor / indoor model combination, certified reference and current directory record. |
| SEER2 / EER2 / HSPF2 | Use the specific matching and regional test metric shown in validated technical documents. |
| A2L / safety listing | Review applicable UL / ETL, safety and refrigerant-management documentation for the actual product configuration. |
| ENERGY STAR / Cold Climate | Check current model-specific program eligibility and listing before using labels. |
| DOE / CCMS & private brand | Confirm reporting / registration obligations and any private-brand arrangements for the customer’s final models. |
5. Private Label, Product Customization & Quality Control
YUJU supports customized HVAC products that reflect the customer’s market, application and brand requirements. The aim is a coherent commercial product line with repeatable specifications and controlled quality, not just a new nameplate.
- Private label: customer logo, model naming, nameplates and packaging specifications.
- Product configuration: select available cabinet, capacity and control options and evaluate non-standard requests.
- Technical documentation: model sheets, installation documents, approved drawings and required labeling.
- Quality control: confirmed specifications, inspection checkpoints, product identification and shipment verification.
- After-sales readiness: spare-parts identification, service literature and technical issue coordination.
- Market expansion: evaluate future SKD/CKD or local assembly support when commercially and technically appropriate.
Any material design modification, prototype program or new certification scope requires a separate feasibility, engineering-cost and schedule review. Existing model ratings cannot automatically be transferred to modified or rebranded configurations.
6. Container Planning and Product-Line Purchasing
For an emerging U.S. brand, a mixed-capacity order can be useful, but the right ratio depends on actual demand. YUJU can review a 24K/36K/48K/60K mix, packing dimensions and container utilization after the models, matching and packaging are defined.
Minimum order quantity, OEM charges, lead time, packing dimensions and container quantities are quotation-specific; they are not fixed across both platforms. We do not publish an unsupported universal MOQ or 40HQ loading figure.
7. Engineering Support & Local Contractor Collaboration
Beyond standard equipment supply, YUJU can support application-specific equipment selection, airflow and duct-system review, customized controls and technical documentation. Qualified local contractors remain responsible for installation, local approvals, field workmanship and on-site commissioning; YUJU can provide product and engineering guidance within the agreed scope.
This division of responsibility helps distributors and contractors combine local service capability with product customization and technical support.
8. A Practical OEM Development Workflow
