Two outdoor-unit formats, two refrigerant platforms. The R32 side-discharge range and R454B top-discharge range are separate configurations. Their performance values, refrigerant circuits and matched indoor units must be evaluated independently; they should not be presented as interchangeable outdoor units.

R32 side-discharge outdoor configuration with a ducted indoor air handler for residential and light-commercial HVAC applications.
2. R32 Side-Discharge Heat Pump & Air Handler
The R32 side-discharge range is available in four capacity classes. The supplied specification identifies a multi-speed ECM blower, indoor and outdoor electronic expansion valves and a rated air-handler external static pressure of 0.5 in.w.c. (125 Pa), with a published operating range up to 0.8 in.w.c. (200 Pa).

Cold-Climate Performance Reference
The R32 technical sheet also reports heating performance at 5°F (-15°C) and -13°F (-25°C). These are model-specific reference points, not a promise that every installation will deliver nominal capacity at every low-ambient condition.

Listed indoor airflow settings range from 485–994 CFM (24K) to 1,044–1,831 CFM (60K). Available airflow at a given duct pressure must be confirmed from the applicable blower performance information, rather than assuming the highest listed CFM is available at maximum static pressure.
3. R454B Top-Discharge Heat Pump & Air Handler
The separate R454B platform uses a conventional top-discharge outdoor arrangement. Its supplied indoor specification lists a TXV, while the outdoor unit lists an EEV. Both indoor and outdoor equipment are specified for 208/230V single-phase 60Hz electrical service.

At an outdoor temperature of 5°F (-15°C), the supplied R454B top-discharge performance reference lists heating capacities of 17,800 / 26,800 / 36,000 / 38,000 BTU/h for the 24K / 36K / 48K / 60K classes, respectively, with a reported COP of 1.8 at that test point. These values should be confirmed against the final matched-system technical submittal.
4. Air Handler Selection: Airflow, ESP & Duct Compatibility
Selecting a ducted HVAC system requires more than choosing an outdoor unit by nominal tonnage. Air-handler airflow and external static pressure affect delivered capacity, acoustic performance and the real behavior of the refrigerant circuit.
- Airflow: review the required CFM for cooling, heating and any zoning strategy.
- External static pressure: confirm the blower performance at the actual duct, filter and coil resistance.
- Refrigerant system matching: verify indoor coil, metering device, pipe sizes and refrigerant compatibility.
- Electrical design: verify unit nameplate, MCA/MOCP and applicable circuit requirements for each indoor and outdoor unit.
- A2L design: review applicable refrigerant safety features, installation instructions and local code requirements.
- Installation arrangements: confirm cabinet orientation, condensate drainage and access clearances for the final model.
5. U.S. System Ratings & Certification Documentation
